Just when I was falling in love with the 696 monster, the internet leaked Ducati’s new and meaner ride: The Streetfighter!

Hey folks,
Monty the Vader Monster has a new home. I decided to move it to a picasaweb gallery instead to keep my site more for educational. So, if you are interested to see Monty’s progress, follow this link from now on: http://picasaweb.google.com/monty400

Cheers!

Some little details to replace old tattered ones…

Billet brake and cluth reservoir caps in anodised red with ducati engraved …

Billet oil cap. This came in time as the old rubber one got stucked… cracked and eventually got ripped into pieces while I was trying to remove it.

Delicious frame plugs. Two became part of the t-rex sliders thru some improvisation.

Billet studded footrests for me and pillion. I ordered titanium anodised but one set came in silver. Anyhow, exceptional quality and they are SO featherweight!

The bagster’s on monty and has a snuggly fit! Cool Corse patches on both sides and skull&bones sewn on. Better grip too. I love it!

Here’s some updates on Monty’s rework.
Cleared much cable clutter and re-routedthem to more discreet locations. I think I screwed some connections and now am unable to start Monty up. But here are some pics of monty’s new Vader look!
The CF ‘95 M900 front fairing is cooperating nicely and Monty seems to be all paly with it. Gives Monty that vintage look while preserving the streetfighter’s edge. The old-style decal sure complete the vintage look. What I like about this piece is its uniqeness such that it wraps around the whole headlight. Neat! You’ll notice Monty’s new CF front fender though this badly take pic does not show it well.

These cool T-Rex sliders came in today and will be part of Monty soon.

This retro ‘95 CF wind screen fairing (got it off ebay)… it lookes weird initially but it’s getting along with Monty… slowly… we’ll see how it goes.

I also got this Bagster tank cover from Motoworld and it’s undergoing some kickass patch stitching.

Ok, so I have now officially gone mad over carbon fiber. After trying out CF vinyl which was a total failure, I decided to go for the real deal. So here’s the list of CFs currently being packed or waiting to be shipped to my doorstep.

Monty’s going for a makeover…
CF Belly Pan or Lower Cowl

CF Side Panels

CF Seat Cowl

CF (CarboTech) Rear Hugger

CF *(Shift-Tech) Front Fender 888 Racing style

and some decals too…
Ducati Wings (a pair)

DP Exhaust Decals

Ducati Corse Italian Flag Gel Dome Decals (2x)

Side Panels Decals

All I can do now is WAIT!

Ducati has done it again. Just as I was getting used to my Monty 400, Ducati released a brand new monster with a spanking new design, and it’s awesome. This has just spurred me on to upgrade my riding licence to above 400cc.
